What does the color of our luggage say about us??

My sister commented on my previous post and raised an interesting point.  I am of the belief that the color of our luggage changes as we live our lives.  Many times during the course of our life our luggage won't even match which can lead us to wonder how things that are so mis-matched can belong to us and reflect who we are.  And yet they do...
There was a time in my life when I would describe my luggage as being primarily black, with a small bag or two in baby blue and pink.  When I think on this time I believe it reflects my life with the father of my children.  There was a lot of darkness in the relationship because who I was was hidden away in the black luggage.  The baby blue and pink however were my children.  I still keep a black bag in my hypothetical luggage rack, with a smaller bag inside.  That inner bag of course does not get opened, ever.  It's just there. A reminder, think about it, we all have a bag like that, one that contains our deepest darkest thoughts, memories, etc.  Think back, think of your life, you have one too.  Like I said, we all have luggage.  The trick is though not to let your luggage pile up in front of you.  When you do, you not only prevent new relationships from forming, but you end up basing all of your life's responses according to it.  Push that luggage behind you, accept it, open it, look at it, close it, use it, but don't let it stop you from living.

More thoughts to come
